Denise Cruz is a Spanish bilingual speech-language pathologist and the Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Services for the Ruth Smadbeck Communication and Learning Center at Marymount Manhattan College, New York. She Supervises undergraduate student clinicians and provides diagnostic and clinical services to adults/children with communication and related needs. Denise has been in practice since 2005 with experience in a variety of communication, voice, feeding and swallowing disorders in various settings (schools, hospital, SNF, home-care), and delivery models. Her clinical interests lie in the areas of cognition, rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients, swallowing disorders, voice disorders, transgender voice modification, and care of the professional voice. Mentoring future clinicians is a way to give back to the amazing career that has given her so much joy and fulfillment. In her spare time she enjoys traveling (by land and sea), swimming, watching baseball, singing karaoke, and salsa dancing. She was born in NYC but her heart belongs to Puerto Rico.
