Plan how to fund your health sciences study abroad experience. Therapy Abroad can help you understand program costs, explore payment schedules, and get started with fundraising. Your university can advise whether financial aid or campus funding may apply to your chosen program.

Build your budget around the specific program you want to join. Include the program fee and any separately charged airfare, academic credit, insurance, travel documents, meals, baggage, and personal spending. Review the inclusions and payment dates before setting your fundraising goal.

Financial Aid

Talk with your university about financial aid

If your international program is approved for academic credit, you may be able to use eligible financial aid through your home institution. Approval is individual: your financial aid office and study abroad office determine whether the program, enrollment arrangements, and expenses qualify. Ask what documentation they need and when funds would be available.

Bring your program description, dates, itemized cost estimate, and proposed credit arrangement to that conversation. Therapy Abroad can help provide program information for your university’s review. Earning credit alone does not guarantee financial aid eligibility.

Scholarships

Explore scholarships and campus support

Ask your department, study abroad office, student organization, and university foundation about travel awards or experiential learning funds. Look for opportunities connected to your discipline, destination, or academic goals. Confirm each award’s current eligibility rules and deadlines directly with the provider.

Fundraising

Make fundraising personal and specific

Explain what you hope to learn, how your program relates to your education, and what contributions will help pay for. Share a realistic goal and updates with family, friends, campus groups, and community supporters. Protect the privacy and dignity of community members in every story or image you share.

Enrolled participants can ask about a WeTravel contribution page linked to their program balance. Check the current platform terms and your booking conditions for payment and refund details. Contributions toward your travel costs should be described accurately as support for your participation.
