Staying Healthy While Traveling

We do our best to help you stay safe and healthy while traveling. However, the physical stress of a long flight, adjusting to new foods and water, and being in a hot climate can affect your health and daily routine. Allergies, injuries, or chronic conditions may resurface or present differently during your trip.
You can help keep yourself healthy and safe by:
- Bringing any over‑the‑counter medications you occasionally use at home.
- Packing supports or aids such as ankle/knee braces, ear plugs, glasses, or contacts.
- Staying hydrated—our team will always have clean, fresh drinking water available.
- Applying sunscreen frequently throughout the day.
- Listening to the guidance of your experienced team leaders and guides.
Together, as a team, we will stay healthy.

Vaccinations & Preventive Health
We strongly recommend that every participant on a Therapy Abroad program seek guidance from their medical provider or a local travel clinic regarding vaccinations, immunizations, and medications.
Recommended Core Vaccines:
- Tetanus (Td/Tdap)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
Other Considerations:
Some destinations may recommend vaccines for typhoid, rabies (pre‑exposure), or Japanese encephalitis.
Ask about malaria or dengue prevention depending on your destination.
For questions about vaccines, check with your physician or a travel health clinic. You may also contact us if you need further guidance.
Reliable Resources:
CDC Travel Health Site for the most current vaccine and health recommendations by country.
Local public health departments or travel medicine specialists.
