Therapy Abroad’s Pre-Physical Therapy College Prep Program in Bulgaria & Greece is designed for students who are exploring a career in physical therapy or other health science fields. This immersive program combines clinical shadowing, professional development, and cultural exploration to help you prepare for graduate school and strengthen your future PT applications.

eligibility Criteria for Speech & Occupational Therapy Program
This program is open to:
Undergraduate students interested in physical therapy, kinesiology, exercise science, athletic training, biology, or other pre-health fields.
Students at least 18 years old by the program start date.
Those with an interest in service, cross-cultural exchange, and exploring healthcare abroad.
No prior clinical or language experience required.

Clinical Observation: Shadow physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists in hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. See how care is provided across different healthcare systems and compare practices between Bulgaria and Greece.
Workshops & Seminars: Participate in hands-on learning sessions led by Therapy Abroad faculty and local professionals. Topics may include therapeutic exercise, patient-centered care, goal-setting, and communication strategies.

Bulgaria and Greece Program Accommodations
While abroad, you’ll stay in comfortable, student-friendly housing selected by Therapy Abroad for safety, convenience, and cultural experience.
Bulgaria: In Sofia or Plovdiv, students will be housed in modern hotels or university-style residences within walking distance of cafes, shops, and cultural sites. Rooms are typically shared with other Therapy Abroad participants and include Wi-Fi and basic amenities.
Greece: In Athens and surrounding areas, students will stay in centrally located hotels or guesthouses, making it easy to explore historic neighborhoods, restaurants, and iconic landmarks. Shared rooms foster a supportive group environment.
All accommodations are clean, secure, and vetted by our staff. Breakfast is included daily, and group meals are provided throughout the program. Program leaders and local staff are always nearby to ensure students feel safe and supported.
