Lisa Lachance, CCC-SLP

Lisa Lachance, originally from Maine (has lived in 8 different states and Germany), is a medical Speech-Language Pathologist, with 30+ years of experience working with the adult neurogenic population in the acute hospital setting. She continues to work clinically and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor, at Chapman University, with areas of expertise in swallowing, voice, and motor speech disorders. She is a clinic director of the university funded Adult Learning Lab that provides pro bono evaluation and treatment services to adults with language and cognitive-communication disorders. Lisa has 20 years of experience as a graduate student clinical supervisor. She also works to promote interprofessional education in healthcare. Volunteer work includes a community-based BE HEARD group for people with Parkinson’s Disease. She is the proud mother of two amazing daughters, a dog and a cat. In her free time, she stays active by going to the gym, hiking/backpacking, gardening, and exploring new places. To relax, she likes to read, do jigsaw puzzles and crafts, listen to music and binge watch a great show. She is super excited to be a part of the Therapy Abroad program.
